Rules: All American Soap Box Derby 2007 rules apply. All protests against other entries must be lodged prior to the start of the race in written form. (Exception: car is altered during the race.)

Inspection: Cars will be inspected prior to the race. Check your car ahead of time. Use the inspection sheet in the car AASBD assembly instruction booklets. Please make sure you start the day with a NEW brake pad and are prepared to replace them as needed.

Wheels: Z-Glass wheels in all divisions. Wheels must be retained by standard AASBD wheel clips. Mark your name and location (i.e. left front) clearly on each wheel. No added lubrication after the race starts OR in between the double and single elimination races. You will be swapping wheels with your opponent and will not receive your wheels back until the end of the day. Please ensure you have retrieved your wheels at the end of the day. If you must leave early please notify the Race Director to work out and early exit for your wheels. Note - wheels will not be released mid-phase, they will have to complete a full race before they can be returned.

Race Format: One double elimination race which guarantees each racer 4 trips down the hill at a minimum. All cars must be weighed in and inspected prior to the first race. Lane and wheel swap, timer differential. We reserve the right to alter the race format based on weather and track conditions on the day of the race. The wheel swap is a PROGRESSIVE swap which means you race with your wheels in the 1 st phase of your 1 st race. Then you swap all 4 wheels with your opponent. They race with your wheels in the 2 nd phase and keep your wheels into their next race. You will have theirs. Repeat this procedure after the 1 st phase of every race.

Times: Sign-in: 6:30 - 8:00 AM

Weigh-in and inspection: 7:30 - 9:00 AM

Drivers Meeting 9:05am

Practice Runs: As needed for first time drivers following the drivers meeting.

Racing Starts: 9:15 AM

Cars: There are some Stock and Super Stock cars available for use on a first-come-first-served basis - please contact the Race Director, Carl Osborne for more info and to reserve a car.

Entry Fee: $35 per racer
Volunteer Help: Please remember that this is a volunteer event, run by volunteers for your enjoyment. We may need volunteers to step up and help at the event.

Special Notes: The Race Director has the right to alter the racing format as needed, i.e. loss of daylight etc. Our goal is to have SAFE, FAIR and FUN races!

Cars cannot be worked on after they are weighed and inspected unless it's for safety reasons and you have requested to do so with the race director.

You MAY wipe your wheels on the ramps but please try and keep the race moving. If you are slowing things down, we will ask you to help us out by trying to speed it up! We want everyone to do what they need to ready their "racer" but we'll have to get a lot of kids down the hill in a short period of time so please keep that in mind as you prepare your car on the ramp.
