2008 Arizona Raw Hide Harvest
Traditionally shrouded in even more secrecy than the legendary African Elephant burial ground,
the annual Raw Hide Harvest on secret locations on the properties of
Superior's Raw Hide Ranch began in early June.
Although any Raw Hide is a good Raw Hide to a chew crazy dog,
a tradition similar to the Asian process for Hundred Year Old Eggs buried for special seasoning and curing
has been perfected by the Ranch Head Raw Hide Wrangler,
Odin Ruby's Escape, WBX.
Ruby, as she is commonly known, has perfected the technique of finding secret spots on the Ranch to deep store raw hide chews.
Exerhide, Hartz Mountain, Wal-Mart brand - any and all are candidates for the slow, deep dirt maturation processes that yield a well seasoned, cured and perfected chew that can be best compared to a finely aged French wine from a perfect vintage.
Fortunately, Dog Years are shorter than Asian years, so the curing can take place over a matter of months.
Ruby, who learned to articulate the words, "Raw Hide,"
in a way comprehensible to any sub-intelligent humanoid over a year ago,
developed a pattern of aggressive management/black mail with her human room mates.
She learned that it was very easy to make demands as long as one of her room mates was sleeping,
or on the telephone. During the peak of the Raw Hide sowing season, the Ranch's wrangler was able to
obtain and bury up to seven Raw Hide Chews per day.
Now, after a few out of season rains, the curing and seasoning of the chews is apparently nearing perfection.
However, Ruby is not always willing to be filmed while harvesting, so several of these covert photos are blurred.
Others have been artifically blurred to conceal the original location.
The Harvest would normally remain secret, but the begging and black mail events
have dropped in number sufficient enough to raise suspicion.
Ruby does not have plans to operate any commercial Raw Hide crop and harvest,
although this would turn Superior's Raw Hide Ranch into one of North America's most profitable farming operations.
