THE NEW TRUCK!!!!!!

Jim has dreamed of an off road 4 wheel drive vehicle.
His tax refund was dedicated to finding a vehicle that could be towed behind the coach, and be a good fuel economy Superior car.
Thanks to Craig's list, we are now the proud owners of a '79 Subaru Brat pickup.
Of course it needed an engine, Jim found one at our now favorite wrecking yard for $150.
Even better, he got one for my Festiva at the same place!
He's also going to have to install a front CV axle, since one was missing, and they just ran the truck in 4WD all the time.

It has a unique paint job, which Jim loves to celebrate by wearing his camo pants he found at Goodwill on Geezer Day.
Did I mention this was a $300 car?

The truck also has several unique paint and trim items. I especially like the camo bandaids.
Yes, there is no back window.
Check back, as we will be updating this page as the vehicular progress commences.
It is not going to go too fast, since
poor Jim is working at a JOB, not just on the front porch.
He fixed too many people's cars in town,
so Jim is now Director of Maintenance for the Town,
a part time position in the Town of Superior.
Poor guy wants to be retired, so he works on a"work whenever and how much you want."

I felt sorry for him until I saw the light in his eyes when he talked about the '42 and '39 fire trucks he is in charge of
( not the current fleet, but historic value - I had never heard of a Seagrave before, and it looks darn good for a '39).

And he gets to play with backhoes, dump trucks,
and everything every little boy wanted as a Tonka truck.
He even gets to work on machines at the sewer plant.
Every day, he comes home with some story about some machine that was neglected and how he fixed something and is a hero.
After he worked his first week, they have told him he can now be a full time employee!
Poor dear, he is just overburdened with needed skills.
But the town now has their substitute for Scotty, the Chief Engineer!
Beam me up, Jimmie!
